Well assuming since you posted here you probally have a 92-95 civic which is OBD1. OBD2 from what I've heard is much touchier to mods, but has more engine trouble shooting codes. On the other hand with the car already being OBD1 I'd try and convert the engine to the OBD1 to keep the wiring to a minimum. Depending on which D you have it'll be a HUGE improvement. I went from a non-vtec D to a B16 and it took me nearly a month to get used to the power. Have fun with it!

actually just the other day I went to go order a B16A2 for my car and it comes with the OBD1 Ecu already configured, all you have to do is reset it once you get everything in and running. Besides no point in putting a OBD2 in because they are a lot harder to program then OBD1. Then again it doesn't really matter for me since at my school i have teh plugs and programs to plug to both lol!!

You sure it was a b16a2 and not a '92-'95 JDM (or EDM) b16a? A lot of different places refer to the jdm engine as the a2 to signify that it's the second gen b16a. And there also is an EDM b16a2 that is obd1. But the original poster is refering to the '99-'00 Si engine, which is obd2.

kk, my bad then, well ya the one he is sellin me is the second generation b16(as in not for teh 88-91 but the 92-95 version) which he refered to as b16A2, either way, still a very good engine with a good amount of horsepower..but ya now that I checked teh engine name on teh site is right, just him who said it wrong..anyway here is the engine, B16A G2 http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/ (go on honda and click on the engine)!!

although if you did want to switch to obd 2...even though i wouldnt advise it... they make a obd1-> obd2 plug, all you do is plug one end into yours and the other into the obd2
