is relocating the battery hard?

The actual relocating isn't difficult, but there are some issues that should be considered before relocating your battery. Looking under the hood of my 4 cylinder Tacoma I see there isn't room to relocate it under the hood, A V6 would probably be worse. If you move it a long distance from the present location you may have some electrical problems unless heavier cables are used. The positive treminal is the problem and without re-engineering the harness it would be easier to connect a longer cable to the existing cable. It should be a bigger cable than the present cable and where the cables are tied together you will have to well insulate the connection. It would be best to remove the existing battery post and splice a cable on the present cable with solder, soldering irons do not make enough heat. Ground isn't a big problem because you can run a ground cable from the negative battery post to the frame. I haven't checked where the present ground cable is fastened but if you relocate I would run a ground strap from the frame to the engine. Not done properly you cun destroy the ECU and other electrical components. Lastly, make sure the battery is securely fastened down. A marine battery box would help keep the battery dry if it's installed in the bed.

Hope this give you some idea of what is involved.
