94 T/A GT

I'm sure it's already posted on here somewhere in the forums however I have not been able to find any posting explaining the same issues my 94 trans am GT is having right now. I've had my T/A for 4 months now and experienced no problems from it until this past weekend when it began to have some serious starting issues. Prior to this past weekend there was no hesitation to start it took less than 2-3 secs to fully turn over, however its now taking 2 or 3 tries for it to turn over and twice now as its started it bogged down. Now, the starter, alternator, battery, and fuel pump have all been replaced in the past year. I'm kind of leaning towards a fuel system problem, however, once the motor turns over it runs fine and is as strong as it was prior to this problem starting. I'm new to the world of the LT1 as having owned carbed motors prior. Can anyone suggest anything or point me in the right direction? :banghead:

fuel pump? bad starter? its a 94...so those things are gonna be on deaths door if they haven't already been replaced.
From one GT owner to another.....don't even bother telling people its a "GT". The reason: Most people have no idea what a trans am "gt" is. Adding "gt" to the end might keep some people from replying...thinking they have no idea what kinda car you have.
'94 was the only year the "gt" was available. Its basicly the "loaded" option package. Mostly Cosmetic. Only 6,357 were made. This was the same year for an aniversary T/A, many people bought those instead, hoping for a rare bird. Fact is, all the aniversary ones are sitting in garages. The GTs are being driven, and wrecked/crushed making them a whole lot rarer as time passes. If you have a hardtop...don't wreck it....only 1,346 GTs were ordered with hard tops.

yep, it's a hard top, and one of only 304 with the sunfire yellow and graphite interior option. I love it but hopefully it wont become more of a money pit than i can afford to play with.

I would run a fuel pressure test to possibly rule that out. Does it run fine?

don't forget to check out the "optispark". The '93 and '94 models did not have vented versions. so, if moisture gets in there they crap out. in '95 they added a vented version which fixed this.
you can swap in a vented version if you want, btw. Would be a good idea.
Good luck with the GT. I am well aware of them. I even have an original ad of a '94 GT hanging in my office "cubicle".

Wait- did I misread your article? are you stating the engine/ startor physically turn over slower when you go to start the car? or are you stating it just takes longer time before the engine fires? Please clarify. If it's the slower startor motor then disregard my optispark comment. If it's the latter then you should check it out.
Let me know and I'll reply with more suggestions for fixing.
