depends on how bad it is. Worse case is that it has rusted through, which will need to be cut out and replaced with a new piece of metal. EXPENSIVE, I had one bad spot on my celica and a really small one near the back window. They said it would cost $420 and that's just with primer over it. If the rust is minor you can sand it out use some solvent that eats rust clean it up and primer it with some type of rust sealer. Just make sure you take care of it before it becomes too cancerous. They can really get out of hand, like friggen holes...

the only way to get rid of it, is to get rid of it, cut it out and replace it, but if you want to be cheap about it, grind it down, all the way down till its smooth and rust free, then get acid etch, and brush it on, then some primer that you can pick up at a parts store, it will turn rust into primer, spray that on top, then regular primer, but the best and safest way is to get rid of the area all together, you'll need to cut an inch or two all the way around it, as far as the hood goes, if its bad, as in cancerous, and not light rust, chunk it

if its sandable, sand if, if its too deep you have to either grind it or cut it, thats pretty much it, its not all that hard to get rust off the car, but that thing looks like its too far gone to try and salvage...if you really like that car id say just grind down as much as you can, put some of that primer thats suppost to control rust and then paint it...itll still eventually eat throguh but itll look alot better

Hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to pay for all this to get fixed, how much would we be speaking *covers eyes*

I'd honestly say $600 cut and weld. You can go to a body shop and ask them if they do it, I don't think most do, but they'll probably know of another place that can do it.

600 bucks eh? *Hopes Rite-Aid or Target hires him* LOL. Supposedly getting the new tires next week, cause I'll have 150 bucks Monday and treadquarters charges 193 for the tires I need, but 600 bucks, yea, that's a while away.

lets put it this way, replacing it, well paying someone to replace it for you, is going to cost alot more then even you will want to spend on the car, I'd just go ahead and do it yourself

the rear fender isn't something you can just pop off, it's a unibody.

yea, those a fun cars. You should try the simple mod of relocating your battery, I did it on mine and it made a noticable difference. All you need really big gauge cable and connector and somet extra things you can find at a junk yard to jerry rig it in the trunk. I actually drilled holes and threaded it put down some silicon and screwed down the battery holder that sits in the engine bay and just got another clip to make it stay.
