I have a 01 ranger 4.0 I was taking off the clamps thought you only need a screw driver. I broke the green colored clamp. The dealer does not have it or can find it. Does any 1 know what I can do to fix it. Im going to by the tool soon to get the rest off. The junk yard has a 99 will that be the same as my year?

i believe thats the kind that you have to push in with your thumb and pull out, and are part of the fuel line, so you might have to replace the line.someone plese correct me if im wrong.im thinking about the filters that have two lines going into it on one side and and one line on the other side.and you will need a fuel line tool for one of the lines.

if you only broke the small plastic tang and not the plastic on the line itself then the two little u shaped plastic clips should come with the filter. if you broke the plastic on the fuel line you can get a replacement end at the auto part stores.

It was the kind you push in. I found a line in a junk yard.

If you are still having problems, you can find the fuel line connectors at any auto parts store. They are about 20-25 dollars. I had the same problem. Be weary that the clamp you need has the same line size. The green clamp is bigger than the orange clamp. Don't worry about getting the scissor tool. It is useless. Your replacement will come with a disconnector. Keep it.

Any idea where to get that tool for the fuel line? The green fitting is part of the line, and I can't get mine off. I have a 2000 Ranger with the 2.5 L engine.
