i'd like to get a sunroof for my truck. (99 passport)
ideally i'd like an original factory power sunroof. know of anyone that puts them in?
should i even get one? eventually (when the wife loses interest in the look of the truck) i want to do some heavy off roading, instead of the mud pit style stuff i currently do. would a sunroof be a bad idea then (body flex)?
what do you think? i guess i could just get a reagular pop-up sunroof, instead of power.

Crack a phonebook and I bet you can find a shop in your area that will install a moonroof (power one) for 700-800 bucks.
I wouldn't get a pop-up one ....

No you don't. :nono:
They leak :banghead: (not all, but they do have the potential)
They weaken the roof line :uhoh:
They create an easy breakin entrance :eek7:
It's up to you, buy why create an opening, and weaken your whole roof line - specially if you'll be into 4-wheeling.
Just my :2cents: :cwm27:

thanks. i value that. i wondered about the structural integrity. i know they won't cut and supports of the roof, but i wasn't sure if it would weaken it.
i think i'll sit this idea out...
as far as the break-in point...it would be funny to see someone climb up a 3 + 3 install. (well, once it's finished)

Directory, i know how you feel. Mine does not have a sunroof either. My last three cars had them and I really want one. It feels weird without it. I haven't gotten one because after-market sunroofs often leak. There is no substitute for a factory sunroof. It is rather expensive to put a automatic one in too. I am not a fan of the pop-up roofs.
