Just wondering if anyone knew the disadvantages of having N/A stage 2 cams on a Turbo car, I plan on going turbo in the possibly distant future, but i'd like to get a kick in the pants for my car now so would turbo be bad w/ n/a cams or are turbo cams bad w/ N/A, mostly wondering which is the better option for right now
any help is great

it depends what "stage 2" was designed for. with a turbo, you can't have much overlap and most N/A cams have a lot of overlap.

...SOHC yeah... the cams i was looking at are rpw ones, hardly worth it to buy some then switch later on, especially since i'll have to have a shop put them in, then tune it

i think he means i can't use a combination of cams like the 264, 272 combination popular w/ the 4g63, that or he was trying to be a smartass... eh whatever

from his statement, i got that he said the V6 only has 1 cam b/c its SOHC....which is wrong. it is SOHC but it has 2 cams

how the hell does that work? It you have 2 cam shafts than you would be dohc (correct) And the 2000+ came with a 3 liter v6 sohc 200hp gts 210. No i wasn't trying to be a smart ass but as far as i know you only have one cam.. that controlls the intake and exhaust. The 264 and 272 is good but its better to have 272 / 272 the real reason for the 264 intake is so that your idle isnt all rough. Also i guess it will change your power band quite a bit but thats not the point.

just b/c it has 2 cams doesn't mean it has to be DOHC. if the car has TWO heads and is a SOHC then it will have TWO cams. this is how the V6 is. its a V6 not an inline 6.
there is a cam over each head(SOHC) but it has two heads.

:1: look it up next time,
and i kno 272's all around are for strictly power, the 264 combo 272 (what i would use if i had a dsm) is for a cleaner idle, at least half the guys i kno w/ turbo cars have dsm's, i'm not entirely illiterate
