I have a 96 blazer 2dr 4x4 that I plow with. Last Winter with heat on high, wipers going defrosters on there is a big load on the alternator. When I use the plow that draws another 30 amps or so and every things dims and slows down. My connections and wiring are in good shape I believe I am just using up more amps than the alternator can keep up with. Can anyone recommend a higher amp alt that will bolt in place and where to get one. Autozone, Advanced, NAPA in my area say there are none avaliable.

Thanks BlazerLt !! did not think of Ebay. I see many on there and the prices are not too bad, 200 amps will definitely do it and I already upgraded my cable gage because I thought that may have been a problem so I am good to go.

I bought one only to find out that it is for a 1996+ and wouldn't fit on my 1995 Blazer.
It was built REALLY WELL.

I think ebay is the first place I look for most things. Except my women ;)
Ebay has come in handy on numerous occasions for truck upgrades, old computer parts, skis! Good luck
