cant get any power

of coarse i got a 93 escort 1.9 5 speed and it has been driving fine i got home and parked my car went out the next morning to go to work and it wouldn't turn over. ok so i figurared my battry is dead cause it clicked like it was my battery. i got home and started to work on it. and when i went to turn it on nothing. no lights would work or nything else the only light i got was the check engin light only when i pushed in the break. my battery is good my starter is good and now when i try to connect my battery it sparks high enough it hit the hood pls any help i need to get to work

id have the alternator checked sounds like somethings (obviously) shorted.
