I hit i bear in my 95 cherokee, messed up the front end pretty good. my one question, I like the look of the '97 and up xj, will the nose from a newer cherokee fit mine?:naughty:
if it will can I swap the tail lights and the rear hatch from a newer one also in time?:naughty:

From what I understand, bears are not Jeep-resistant, either... :)
Big bummer for both of you.
Good luck with the Jeep.

Cant find the off topic smilee but it's not only jeeps that arn't bear resistant. Hit a glansing blow to a BLACK bear one moonless nite out in the foothills. Swerved to miss him but still took out the front fender and headlite assembly. Stopped imeadiatly and rolled down the window to listen to him complain his way rapidly into the bush.
Next day the insurance adjuster and I picked bear fur out of the right front tire bead for about 1/8 of the rim circumference. Bet he was one cross bear for a few days.
ON TOPIC>>>>
you should be able to fit a 97 front clip onto the 95 no problem.... Hatch too and my guess is the tail lites too.(Check when you go for the front clip)

I don't think I killed the bear, I drove there today and didn't see a dead one, I hit him at prolly about 45-50mph, did a number to the jeep though...

I hate to pass the bad news around, but the bear likely died a short time later in the bush.
Such impacts often produce internal damage which allows the bear to run off the road, but later die of internal bleeding and/or organ failure.

and of course no one around here has the newer front end, so I am stuck with the same styl one that I had, what really sucks is my jeep is red and black while the new front end is green and chrome, quess I will have to drag out the ol' spary gun and compressor...

organ failure? I say CHF with internael bleeding. lack of blood with organs; all will dies with in 10 min. with a jeep, well i would have to say you fuc*** up your frunt end and the jeep hobbles away, be prude that you walked away.
