need help with installing clear corners

i recently purchased the front diamond cut clear corners. i am having problems securing them from the inside. it appears that with a washer the socket-joint bolt will not reach far enough to screw back in. if anyone has installed one of these please help!

i had that problem too.. i was using the maximadriver.com instructions
i ended up installing one the OEM way.. it works and is snug..it will not be coming out any time soon
