Need some help, I just bought a 2004 silverado 1500, crew cab....it only has 17k miles on it, I have experienced a noise and a clunking thru the steering wheel, I had an issue like this on a 97 gmc 1500 and it turned out the sway bar bushings were bad.
anyone have any ideas, seems more pronouced during a turn and you can feel it thru the steering column.

Could be the ball joints :dunno:

More than likely, its simply the steering shaft. You may have heard about the clunk, happens in damn near every truck with recirc. ball type steering. Take it to a dealer and let 'em fix it under warranty, the factory warranty is attached to the vehicle, not the owner.
