I was lookin for a solution to the same problem and I stumbled over this little device, I haven't tested it yet but its at least worth looking in to. http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/15590201

Ya he's talking about putting in an auto 240 ecu, there is also a way to ghetto rig it by messing with the sensors coming out of the trans but it disables the spedometer. If you do remove the gov remember the engine wasn't designed to rev very high without modification.

i hate the 4500 rpm limiter in 4th though, and redlining 4th wont hurt more than redlining 3rd...maybe 4th gear in the tranny has problems at high rpm...dunno...or maybe my car is just shitty and no one else has this limiter...that would suck

the question is...when your going over what the speedo can read, are you worried about the what the speedo says? if not then you can just put your speed sensor on an on/off switch...so when you know your about to go over 110 or so...flip the switch and keep going...once you start to slow down again...turn it back on...then if you get pulled over you can tell the cop you dont know how fast you were going...j/k...anywho...if does work though..
