very dissapointed

ok just got 03 tib aotu tiptronic an dit is slow as hell. i have cai and unbolted mufflers so ruuning straight pipe. i thought these cars were faster than this im not gonna go all out with this car its mainly for my women, but im adding a safc, headers and mabey a cro2 system. that because ive seen them make good gains in that vehicle with a safc added also. i may be dissapointed because its the auto not the six speed. one more thing ive been looking through the threads and dont see many things to give this car power...u know little tips and tricks for little gains like my 12 sec 1st gen neon and my 12 sec gst has. some one have some info

well this aint no dsm... so yeah...

get a real exhaust... and what kind of intake do you have?
get a decent set of headers...
get some plugs, wires, UD pulley.. and then tune your SAFC to it....
with soimple bolt ons teh tib makes pretty nice power/ numbers...

but remeber thsi car is a fuckin hell of alot heavier than your 2 previous cars...

to get your tib in the 12 (or your girl's tib) youre gonna need a built block.. ported heads.. ported IMs.. a high boosting s/c kit or a turbo kit (obviously)
get some cams... everything you would do to any other car..

uhmm correct me if im wrong but cro2 does nothing, it cools the engine instead of giving it more power as Nitros would.

btw a tip, dont get nisco started about nos

this was a quote from the top of the thread board and the cro2 system is inlined in the inake pipe so it directly refers to the quote above, im sure u could fill the bottle with nitrous because its colder.
but my point with the cro2 its not the best mod but in combo with the safc it makes great gains with added fuel because u get a greater amount of combustion. it will work with any car for good gains.

i would like 2 know what exhaust u recommend that would give the car more gains than no exhaust? also i read that this car best responds to single straight through designed exhausts witch would be what im doin without spending the money. also it sounds just like a 350z witch is sweet. but do u think that im not liking it as much because it is auto? have u drivin the six speed, i bet it takes advantag eof the power much better. im new to the shark so i am hearing u out but also knowing the concept of making power with any car. oh yeah i have no exhaust on any of my cars no due to money because the gst is turbo and they get the most gains with zero exhaust and my compression+cams i have in the neon could use a 3in full exhaust so i just went with none, the shark is only short the muffs tho.

Mussa (has a single exhaust also)
KORE (almost none around anymore)
mbrp (almost none around anymore)

id go with any of the first 4 companies for a real nice exhaust...

headers: SSA has teh least expensive headers available.. but remeber its SSA.. errr
Hotshot has a great set of headers, ceramic coated or not, kinda pricy, but a great set
Ripp has a set of headers (its either out or coming out) not exactly sure yet, it changes from day to day...
theyre a set of long tube, equal length headers.. apparently theyre teh best headers out, or to come out for teh tiburon, very expensive, but probably one of teh best mods out for teh tib

intake:
injen or AEM for quality...

NGM has a fuel tuner (pre programmed to the settings according to your tiburon's personal mods, it has really helped alot of people flatten out thei AFR, get thei tibs tuned correctly

As for not being classed as one of the faster Imports, take into consideration the uniqeness among other Imports, as far as the fact that Hyundai is still fairly fresh in this market. Not alot of years under their belt, but by far not the worst Import out there to buy.
Just out of curiosity, but does your womean use this car for sole daily transport? Cuz if so, please tell me how you manage to stay ticket free w/out a muffler.

K, first off, dumb ass question time again for yours truly. DSM and SAFC....Huh? What do those stand for?
Now to throw a bit of info down for you Nisco, if you want to know, but improved Grounding in wire setups allow more room to generate more current for the spark. Adding that with bigger GA hot wires all around, like at the plugs, allow the wires to utilize a bigger flow. If that makes sense. I suck at explaining things, but it makes perfect sense in my head. :eek7:

yes its a daily driver. ive lived in florida 4 5 years and have never gotten a ticket and have never had exhaust on any of my cars eccept the mini van, also in florida(well my county anyways) exhaust is a secondary offense so they have to pull me for something else first then double ticket me. my gst is running straight down pipe load as hell and not fart can loud. and im not concerned with the class i want to know if the six speed takes advantage of the power alot better than the auto? 176-181hp is whats advertised and it feels like im runnin in my minivan, ive owned it 3 weeks and its got some miles on it, its probly time for a nice tune up, im gonna run some seafoam also. see what she does.

oh yeah and nisco cro2 systems work very well ill give u the numbers when i get them as far as timeslips with and with out cro2

www.kspec.com has some Maintec headers for the Tuscani also. I can tell you from first hand experience they're very well made. If you get the GT headers, you might/might not have fitment issues. The GT headers for the RD1/2 are a HUGE PITA to get on, so check on that if you want to get them.
