Power Steering Leak '95

I have a leak in my power steering system in my 1995 5.0 thunderbird. The leak happened because the 3/8 inch (or so) metal pipe was making contact with another metal pipe. The tear is very very small about the size of a sharpened pencil tip. I've tried to patch it using thick rubber from a water hose and clamping it with a metallic cylinder that is tighten from turning a screw. This solution does not work.

Is there anything I can do to patch it? I was also thinking of cutting the pipe and placing a "coupler" I think is called to join both, but the guy at the hardware store said it might not work since there is a lot of pressure in power steering. Futhermore, would epoxy work?

I was reading from another thread that the metal cylinder pipe costs $60 and the whole system costs $160? Is this so?

Replacing the line isn't cheap but it is the only sure fire way to cure the leak. Epoxy may work but it is at best a temporary fix.

is your break in the cooler tube, the pressure line or the return line? if its in the pressure line i would replace but if it is cooler tube or return side your coupler will work

I'm not sure which line it was, but I managed to fix it using a 3/8 inch coupler I bought at a hardware store, hopefully it'll hold out for a while. Thanks for the replies
