Okay, since TSC isn't here I'll help you out...

Go to the grocery store, get some Uncle Bens minute rice, go home and put minute rice in microwave for one minute... voila... instant rice...

If you want lights just buy them and dont bother making them...that is unless you really do have something creative...

Hey man, don't be like that. It's just a joke. Anyway, I think they'd probably look tight on my ride now that it's primered. I haven't primered the rear yet but I have clear corners and side markers and clear lenses would look decent...

i also have a set. just the sides, not the center.
and sorry to steal the thread here, but i also have a few issues with them.

for one: they dont have the holes to accomodate the little parking lights on each far side, which sucks, so i guess i hafta drill some eventually.

two: they didnt even fit properly in the first place, so i had to widen the holes in my car to make the 5 screws fit well on each side.

three: you then need new bulbs unless you want to blind the people behind you with the stock clear ones, so i got some fancy red led's and they arent very bright during the day since they're directional, which isnt the clears' fault, but still kind of a let down. so i'll hafta change to regular style bulbs for safety reasons.

four: they just arent legal.. so im gonna hafta paint em. im thinking of being somewhat unique and painting the top half with some red tint stuff, and the bottom half with black tint stuff, instead of leaving that part clear. then tinting the bottom half of my center panel to match. i havent seen this done so i think it'll be pretty cool. if anyone has seen this somewhere, show me if you can!

also, anyone have some good tips on the tint spraying process? im gonna be doing this fairly soon, so i'd really appreciate it!

and btw, can any other clear tail light owners relate to the issues i mentioned?

oh, sorry forgot to ask this too:

just so i know, how do you remove the center reflective tail light? theres the obvious screws around the edges, but then it looks like theres a clip or something in the middle, and i dont wanna risk breaking the lens, so i just thought i'd ask. do i hafta remove that interior panel to unclip it?

thanks again.

bah, the term rice is the only gay thing in this thread.

i have had a personal battle with all clear threads. it has been an intresting journey to say the least. the laws are different in every state.

my first attempt to run them was 4 years ago, and they were all clear. got pulled over for red bulb not emitting a red, it appeared pink. got LED bulbs and got pulled over for not emitting enough light. cop claimed he almost rear ended me...apparently he was soley zoned in on my taillights and wasn't aware of a 3rd brake light. i eventually bought RedRacerCivic's clears he painted half red.

i used the clear bulbs and was pulled over for white light emitting when i had on the brake. white is reserved for reverse only. i painted the bulbs the same red the tails were painted. so far i haven't been pulled over. however, it's only a matter of time. back when i had the all clears i had been pulled over for not having red reflective.

anybody else probably would have given up 4 years ago. apparently i am very stubborn. i fought the law and i'm still pending to see if i won :icon16:

i just think the clears look tacky, too much...."hey!! Look at me i put tailights on my car now its soooooo different then all the other cars with clear tailights". But like rowitha said "to each his own". But while your at it, u might as well put the always lit clear side fender markers on as well, OH dont forget the windshield sprayer lights, but make sure thoughs are blue or red so u get pulled over for impersonating a cop or fireman. I have those. I could wire it so they blink only when signal is on but I like it the way it is... and I guess so do all the big 2 ton dually trucks with them all over them...

After reading all this headache about clear tail lights, I'm glad I never bothered with that crap. I'm going to be removing my stock tails this weekend to primer the rest of my car. I sure as hell hope there isn't as much trouble with stock tails...

well as u can tell your crx is not one of thoughs big 2 ton trucks, so you would think you do need all thoughs lights on your car, so i say put a mess load of x-mas lights on your car, then im sure the cops wont miss you.

Those are on my accord. I cleaned the tailight up real well with warm water and soap. Then i dried them and masked the back of the car. I got this stuff called night shade. It is a transparent black and this non yellow acrylic clear coat kind of stuff. I put 3 coats of black on with 30 minutes between each coat and then let it sit for 2 hours after the last one then i put 2 coats of acrylic on it with 25 minutes between each coat of that then let it sit overnight. Its kind of hard to do. I didnt really like the way mine came out. In some places my tailight is spotted and it seemed like i took a while doing it with constant strokes and equal distance the whole time. Also i was shaking the can alot. So im not to sure what caused the problem something i did probly lol.
