Hey everybody. My 95 Cutlass Supreme had a premium automatic transmission flush and filter/gasket replacement in March 05 by a Chevy dealership. I have 170,000 plus miles on it. Yesterday, my transmission started slipping because I can't go faster than 30mph without the tachometer going close to the red. I mean it just happened without any notice. I hear something grinding or crunching up front on the driver's side when give it gas. Plus I have to drive it in low gear (1st). Does this mean my transmission is going out? I guess I'll take it to a transmission shop like AAMCO or someplace like it. I hate taking it to the Chevy dealership because I will probably have to pay an arm and leg to get it fix. Does it sound like my transmission is ready to go bad.

Yes, the transmission is going out!!! Unfortunately, the transmission probably failed as a result of the transmission flush you had done. It is too late now to do anything about it so take the car to a reputable transmission shop and have it rebuilt. Next time stick with filter and fluid changes on a regular basis and forget the flushes!!!

well, with a flush when it has 170000 is just asking for trouble, if u haven't done flushes on a regular basis to it then it prolly won't be able to take it. The flush prolly took out all of the abrasive material that was suspended in the fluid. Yes, the transmission is done. A flush is much better for a tranny cause it takes out more of the bad fluid instead of just diluting it.
