Hello.
I want to change to Preston Extended Life before winter kicks in, but I don't know where the valve or bung is to drain out the Dexcool. I have a 2000 GP GT.
And after I drain th eDexcool, I have to flush the system, where do I pour the water into to flush it.. where I add coolant..and.. dumb question, where do I add the coolant?
Thanks eveyone

The drain plug is located on the driver's side of the radiator bottom towards the engine. You can use the tip of a 1/4 " rachet or 1/4" straight handle on it. Turn counterclockwise about a 1/4 turn to open.
To flush the system most of use a Prestone Flush Kit with hose adapters. You will tap into a heater hose. The kit will have instructions. Also it's a good idea to use Prestone flushing solution.
The coolant will be added at the radiator filler on the passenger side of the radiator. Someone wrote up a good flushing procedure in the past. Can't remember where it's at. Good luck!

If you want to get a full flush, there's two block drain plugs located just below the heads in the middle of the block.
They can be a pain to get at, depending on the year of your car, but you get a full drain by using those plugs.
I don't believe in getting tap water into a cooling system unless you have to, so I use distilled water, top off the system with some flushing additive, run it, drain the water and repeat those steps with just distilled water. After that I add in my coolant.
Also, I don't like using the petcock on the radiator. Pulling the lower radiator hose drains the water faster and is easier to get at. At least on my 97 GP.
