Now a question to whoever thought that was a good idea.. why the HELL would you want to take off weight in the back from a REAR WHEEL CAR?!

I remember when drifting wasn't that popular. I didn't even know much about it till I watched Initial D(which is still a great show) but ricers didn't pick up drifting for long time.
If I get flamed so be it. But If you used a carbon hood and the carbon hatch, you'd shave off a lot of weight, just like how supercars are built, or once were built(F40). If atleast one person agrees............................................ .................................................. ..................................I'll know I'm not the only crazy one.

if i had an all-out race car, that i used on road courses, or even if i was trying to make a drift car i might do it... but the kind of racing i do, i need weight on the back of the car... besides i don't even have a 4th gen :lol2:
but as far as drifting, American's invented the original drifting, it was called power-sliding!!! and the dukes of hazard mastered it :lol2:

Actualyl the hatch in a 4th gen is EXTREMELY heavy, aa are the cars... as long as you remove weight fro the front too to equazlize it this would be a godo way of lightening up the car to move a little quicker... (ok now im gonna actully click the link lol)

Well not like front wheel drive is the best for drifting..

Yeah dropping off that much weight would help out a lot. These car have a lot of power but are kinda chunky. Its all about pwoer to weight ratios. Yeah taking that much wieght off the back will efect traction but you can just get some wider tires.

that hatch plus a lightweight plastic replacement window would really shed some wieght.

Yeah im guessing if you got a carbon fiber hood and hatch, you'd even out the weight loss and then your car would be lighter all together. So it'd be pretty good.

our hatches are heavy too, that goes for both 3rd and 4th gens but they don't make carbon fiber for 3rd gens...
