This has got to be on our dumb things list. Well I finaly got a 2g its a GST ,but anyway the dipstick is stuck\brocken off like 2 inches from the top. Does anyone know of a way to get it out without taking off the oil pan?

Are you sure that the dipstick is soldered into the pan?
Seems that would make removing the oil pan somewhat impossible.
There should be a tab somewhere on the dipstick tube that secures it in place. I think you'll find that the dipstick tube is inserted into rubber gromet at the pan. Remove the dipstick bolt and pull it out of the pan.

yeah, im almost positive that the dipstick tube disconnects at the bottom of it. so just drain the oil and take it off and pull that some b*tch out!

you don't even have to drain the oil. Same thing happened to me when I snapped my rubber stocker off taking off the manifold. Just find the bolt it connects to and yank it out, didn't leak at all for me.

Yes, the bolt holding it in is also holding on the power steering pump bracket, if that helps to locate it. I'm sure its a bitch to get to with the motor in the car, but not impossible. One bolt, with an oring at the bottom (so you have to give it a tug to pop it out).
