I am considering installing one in my midpipe, to take otu some of the volume and harshness of my catback

I have a Dynomax Superturbo on my 3.4L and I think it sounds damn good for a sixer. They are supposed to be pretty good mufflers as far as I know and have heard...

if you JUST have the bullet... expect it to be looooooooooud... its literally straight thru, NO restrictions, packign around the sides to muffle some of the harsher tones

Actually, one bullet in the Y pipe won't be all that loud in my opinion. We put one In my buddy's 91 5.0 T-bird and removed the factory mufflers. Sounds great at idle, not really noticable inside at cruise, but noticable on full throttle. Of course, he still has his cats and the engine is stock.

no i still have my 2.8.....noone has bought it yet, i have it for 2200. but as soon as it sells i am buying me a 5 spd v8 3rd gen.and i want it to sound super bad ass. cause it dosnt really matter how loud are cars around here are and we dont have emissions. so i was looking through my summit mag and saw those. arent too expensive. also anyone ever try out the summit performance mufflers. there only like 15 bucks!!!!

Here's what you do then, get headers, no cats and SLP loudmouth.

97, that would be really f***** loud, i don't think ears would love to hear all the time, but would be real badass! When i installed the headers, i ran the car to see what it sounds like with just headers, would believe it was a 305 when i heard.

headers with no cat sounds NICE.... I love how mine sounds... I dont have the SLP loudmouth (just some aftermarket muffler) but it does sound mean..... I can't wait to hear what it sounds like with a GMMG exhaust on the back....

I did, and it was $650 with a group purchase. #1 without a doubt best mod I have made on the ls1 4th gen yet. That said, I haven't really made many yet! I recently had the opportunity to hear a cammed headered/no cat ls1 with the borla exhaust. Have to say, very, very nice! A slight bit too raspy to me but nice none the less.
Back to the original subject, hands down, $ for $ you can't go wrong with a bullet. I have seen several dyno's where the bullet produce more power (under the curve, not just peak) than almost any other street legal muffler. I'm always willing to go for the "bang for my buck" route.
