Stiff gas pedal??

I was thinking about buying this 90 Daytona, 5 spd, 3.0L, with 220,000km on it for $1100 Canadian. My boyfriend drove it, as did I, and said he thought the gas pedal was 'stiff' and engine was 'hesitant', I didn't notice it at all. Anyone notice anything similar?? (Personally, I think my boyfriend wants me to buy a car just like his, and is trying to talk me out of this one). Thanks!!

a stiff pedal could be caused by two things: binding throttle linkage, (2) worn throttle plate. If you're interested in the car, go to your local auto part store and by a can of graphite spray, put it on the spring portion of the throttle on the engine and see if that frees it up. If not, price out how much it would cost to buy a new accelerator cable.
