I am new to upgrading performanceso I have a few quest. I got a 1995 dodge stealth a few months ago. It is the lowest model sohc of the group and all stock. When I bought it from the dealership the salesman told me he could not find a license plate holder to fit due tgo where the screws are placed. So I bought one on line for my specific model. It didn't fit and so far I have not been able to find a plate frame that can. I was wondering if someone could tell me where to go to buy one. Unlike other cars, the screws to where the frame or plate itself would go are really close inward. And there are two rectengular holes where most other plates would have their screws. Please help. Secondly, my car is an automatic unfortunately. For the year I could not find a stick at the time. My car is pretty slow. I was reading somewhere that an engine swap could be made with a montero. I was wondering if this is true? If so what would need to be bought or done to make it work? Are there any upgrades that I could do with out a engine swap or that might be better? Would it be worth it to swap with a dohc? Can it be done? Is it possible to add a turbo to my engine? I know it is very difficult to add swap a auto tran for a manual, so I gues I am stuck with the auto. But if there is someway someone can explain how to increase power I would gladly appreiciate it. I like the exhaust system on the vr4. I was wondering if there is a similar dual pipe system to place on my car? Is there a way to put a electric moonroof kit on my car? I hate the manual winding turning lever fo the sunroof. Where can I find new seats or newer leather seats? Not seatcovers. Is there a site or magazine that speacializes mainly with 3000gt/stealth parts? I am thinking of placing a bodykit on my car. I don't want it to look silly like it doesnt fit the car or real cheap. I have seen some people have real nice kits on their cars. So nice and convincing, that it looks as if the car came with the kit. It didnt look like a cheap material, that you could tell the driver didnt care that his kit was falling off or appeared to be a material that was way different then the rest of the body of his car. Is there a better material to look for when buying a body kit? I know a body kit is exactly what it is but there are some that are better then others. I just want mind to blend with my car like my normal stock ground effects would. Finally, Yes Finally, My headlamps are looking bad per the sun. I live in arizona. Personally I don't want them in black. I noticed some of the 3000gts have thier head lamps in the color of the car. Is there a way to change the color of my headlamps or at least buy them in a different color? Or possibly buy newer ones? If some one can answer any of these I would be happy. P.S. I am depserate to have these quest answered, so please excuse me if you see me asking the same quest on another site.

congrats on the car.

you can moddify it just like any other car, you can do exhaust, intake, timming, fuel, whatever.
I dont know anything about engine swapping but there are 3000GTs out there with different engine, its expensive, usually it runs double the cost of the car to do a swap like that UNLESS you know how to cut and weld and do all the fabbing yourself.
you can do a turbo conversion, there are guys in here like IPO and Hotshot who took N/A automatic cars and turboed them, both of their cars run really hard and are both very impressive tunners.

my advise is not to experiment unless you have the funds, and if you had to settle for a SOHC auto then it might be cause you dont have the funds. go with tunning that has been done and is proven to work an last. I always tell the new guys to consider the RIPP Mods Supercharger, so far I've been talking about it for two years and no one has ever gotten one. its a supercharger kit for your car, it comes with everything you need, fuel management, SC, computer, guages, lines EVERYTHING!
it runs about 4K to get the kit and is available at www.rippmods.com

about the lights, you have to take them apart. check our FAQ.

First and foremost, read the FAQ, it answers half your questions. As well, the search button at the top right of the screen works wonders as well.

As far as engine swaps from the Montero, it is pretty much new territory, only a few have done it, and it requires $$$ and a decent amount of fabrication. The general rule of thumb is it isn't an option for beginners.

Turboing or supercharging are options. There is a decent amount of info above and in the FAQ, so I'll skip that. The turboing or twin turboing from the vr4 is touched on in the FAQ, and there is an entire section devoted to Forced Induction on original NA 3000gts on www.3si.org/forum Check it out.

As well there is a part in the FAQ about auto->manual tranny swaps.

Basically, the SOHC isn't exactly a potential powerplant. It takes alot of money/time to get them quick. So either you go with lots of bolt-ons for minor gains, or you drop a few grand into forced induction.

There are intakes and exhausts out there available...I even think the vr4 catback exhaust would bolt directly up to your car, and you could probably find a used one for around $75.

Check out the sites in teh FAQ, www.3sxperformance.com, www.dynamicracing.com, www.importperformanceonline.com, etc.

Didn't quite get the question you asked about the headlights. Sometimes they accumulate a film-like haze on the inside, this can be removed and you can find directions if you do a search.
If you are looking to upgrade to a different year, I'm not sure on fitment, but generally new ones from the dealership will be quite expensive, so you will probably want to look around for used ones here or on 3si

There are also quite a few threads about bodykits if you do a search.
