My camry would not start today. car has 86000 miles on it.
Battery seems to work as the engine cranks and dash lights come on, electric windows work - so not the battery I think.
Just replace the solenoid contacts - 3 months ago so elimiate the solenoid I think??
However loud noise from the engine, engine shares do not crank?
Spark plug issue?
Can this loud noise come from a broken belt?
Pls advise.

Yes, it could be the battery. It could also be alot of things. What type of loud noise do you hear? A click? Bang?
Since I cannot see or hear your car, your description is all I have to work with. If I get poor or wrong information from you, it may cost you money.

To whom it concerns,
when a batterys voltage is low and/or the battery dies their are many reasons this happens. :uhoh:
#1 the battery could be real old and at the end of it's useful life.
#2 it could have/develop a bad cell in it therefore wouldn't hold a charge.
#3 it could be low on water therefore it wont charge up very well/won't hold a charge.
#4 the altenator may not be putting out the correct voltage to keep the battery properly charged.
Just something to think about ( #3 and #4 ) before going out and buying a new battery to replace the dead one :2cents:
