my first thread at automotive forums..........(SHAZAAAM!)))
alright now sense i have that out of the way, basically iv been getting into the mr2 and iv found one around where I live. Its a 91 n/a mr2 with 100,000 miles great condition engine , everything all checks out.
basically
I would like to put a lot into this car, but im trying to figure out exactly everything that i woudl need to do in order to make this car turbo. what would i need to replace in the engine.
iv heard bout the engine swap with the ct20b and the 3gste which im still taking into consideration, their is one site iv found with the 3gste engine which still isn't a bad idea any input you guys can give me would be great.

it's easier to just find a car that is already a turbo.
you'll have to do some wiring if you do an engine swap, and wiring isn't fun

alright ,.............wiring that isn't fun, im more concerned about other things. if its n/a and i wanted to put a turbo on to it, what else in the engin would i have to replace

you don't want to turbo a 5sfe... the engine wasn't designed for it, and the cost to turbocharge it correctly is close to that of the purchase of a turbo car.
there have been pleanty of threads started here about the swap, just do a search for the details. :)

ya gotcha, im goin to go with you on this one. iv found another turbo 91 model within where I live so im going to go check it out. their are a few turbo's iv found on-line that i can up-grade 2, along with intercoolers, blow-off valves etc, etc. im jus thinking bout what to replace and do first with the car. i plan to use this car once the new track opens up here after december which is the larry h miller track, so im trying to get this for grip racing. i heard the 94 had a more improve suspension which sounded preety appealing cause apparently the rear of the car slides out a bit frequently so im still thinkin.

That was in 93. 15" wheels (from 14") with a 1" drop. The suspension was reworked to be more customer friendly. Jekyl has the details on that...
Although most racers prefer the old point-and-shoot suspension of 91/92.

Theirs more too it then jus that as much as I do take everyone's advice into consideration according to sport compaq car, and online sources they talk bout how they tweeked the suspension in the 94 to stop the car from slipping out as much.

in 94 the trailing arms were made longer, this eliminated some of the oversteer issue the cars had. another way to keep the rear end in check is to get a bigger front swaybar.
you can buy the 94+ suspension parts and swap them on... it isn't too tough.
