My first race ;D

Heh heh... well it only lasted like 5 seconds but it was still fun...

This guy was stopped at a green light even though he was going straight. I figured he stalled or something, so I went around... but as I was going around, he takes off lol. Normally I would have slowed down and got behind him, but this was while I was IN the inersection and it just turned yellow. So I floored it to quickly pass him and noticed I wasnt pulling ahead of him very quickly.... I just thought our car sukked but my mom was like (I only have my permit lol!) "he was racing you!". She says she heard his engine getting very loud. I was too distracted by how much fun it was flooring it to even notice heh heh... So yah, I didnt even know I was racing the guy lol.

Yes it was a lame race... but still, It was my first.

BTW I was driving my mom's 2003 Pontiac Vibe. 130 HP, 0-60 in 9.5 seconds LOL! ;D He was driving a 2001-2002 Dodge stratus R/T i think... they get 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Im guessing the only reason I was able to get past him was because I was going ~20-25 when I first floored it ;D

Heh heh... You have to keep in mind I can ONLY drive with my mom in the car (lame NY permit law crap thing). This was the first time I had ever got to floor a car lol. ;3

actually, with a permit you are allowed to ONLY drive with someone whose 21 and over .. So heres what ya do. Now that you know you love racing, study up on cars, learn to drive a 5sp, and buy a car you love and save up everything to build your motor, because a body kit or wing isn't going to make you go faster. Now tell your mom to buy somin that doesnt drive like a wagon.

hmm well it would be like 2-3 years before I could get one (and I will probobly find another car I like by then), but would the pontiac G6 coupe be a good car to get? And would the ECOtec I4 2.4L 160 HP or the V6 200HP be better? Someone told me that the ecotec engines have a lot of performance parts you can buy for it... thats why I ask.

Also the HHR (lol!) also uses the ecotec 2.2L and 2.4L. Would it be possible to make it into a fast car? Maybe not so much a raceing car....

I thought the R/T stratus was a little faster then a vibe (maybe he wasn't racing?). I'd rag on the stratus but the R/T isnt really %100 dodge. DSM BITCH!! lol I had to get that out.

wtf!? the stratus is the new eclipse brother,, OHHHHH that makes sense, the 5 speed stratus R/T 3.0l is directly comparable to my car, meaning its just a LITTLE faster than a vibe...yeah

good race, reminds me of my ford taurus and my neighbor's eclipse turbo going at it...:uhoh:

You'd be suprised how many vans want to race me, we have a nice cruising area around here and there is always familys cruising the town in mini vans, racing people at lights, heck our whole area is full of racers regardless of the vehicle they are driving, its good stuff :biggrin:

id love to live here u do Zeiss. everyone round here wants 20's and SUVs to make gas prices soo high and say im soooo iccccyyyyyy but dent the rims or get killed over them. i race plenty people in my van (2004 toyota sienna awd 3.5 v6)
