I'm in school for auto body, i'm not trying to say i know everything about fixing cars, but just for a good paint job around where i live you could pay almost up to 10,000 US dollars (i assume you live in canada because "650 kms"). You're car might be in good shape, but it does kind of sound like you have a lot of rust if you have it on such major body panels such as the quarters, doors, and fenders. Anytime you have rust work that is going to make the price jump up rather quickly. Is 20,000 a lot? It might be a little over priced, but i dont think it is as bad as you may think.

yah the 20 grand is kinda steep .. especially for me im only 15... yah i guess it is alot of rust but just spread out in little patches... and yes 20 grand could bring tons of mods but it would still look like shit.... but the work this guy does on cars is amazing... he had a 59 chev pickup in is shop and a shelby kit car ... but me and my dad are just gunna try and find someone in town who does body work by trade and see if we can trade our mechanical services for bodywork service
