Hi,

car - 2001 i30
miles - 54000

Today i saw the check engine light and went to autozone to check the code and they says that the code is "system too lean" and not sure what is the issue. What can be the possible issue. since they clear the code , should i wait for light to come back or go to dealer directly.
Also where can i find the document that can specify what is comes under standard warrant in emission?

Thanks

... should i wait for light to come back or go to dealer ...

Most probable: intermittent erroneous error mesg's do happen. Lots of reasons... Dont worry if it does not come to stay. Clear the light DIY: batt cable off for ½hour.
- pick the code next time

If real, causes could be
- intake air leak
- sooty engine (valve stems carbon deposits soak gas as engine is cold)
- sensor fault, wire fault, connector oxidation. These may be DIY serviced, read http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14
- cheaper to swap sensor(s) in any other place than stealer$hip else first. Whatever, demand the swapped parts for u self, tell them u will show them to me. (keeps robbing to minimum). Stay beside u car: if not allowed; wrong shop.

Suspect sensor: O2 sensor -IF- the light comes when engine warm. TPS throttle pos sensor if it appears when cold. Whats TPS: clic http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/6

may also be bad or clogged injectors, clogged fuel lines, weak pump...

More than likely it is either the O2 sensor or u just might need a standard tune-up that includes spark plugs (NGK preferably) O2 sensor replacement and an oil change. Ask whether or not it is the O2 sensor at auto zone cause the computer will ususally tell u. (O2 sensors depending on where it is located can be costly esp. on Infinity
