lowering a civic

ok... i was told that when lowering a civic, from the 92 body style and newer, there was a problem... when you when to take the struts off in the rear, they sorta welded themselves to the control arm... a guy at the carshop told me this, and said it happens to just about all civics... is this true? i just bought my coilovers and have yet to put them on, but i worked at monro muffler/brake and we do struts all day, we never had that problem... were we lucky or is that just something he thought up so i would pay him to do it? thanks for the help

whoa look who decided to rise from the dead.

who! who! who!?

as for the possible problem at hand, it's a single through bolt that holds the shock on. i believe i understand the problem thow. the metal sleeve that the bolt passes through in the bushing and the bolt seize together do to corrosion. and yes that is a pain in the ass to break free and sumtimes not possible. it would be a good idea to put performance shocks on when u lower a car anyway.
