Well what is it? No making up stuff (ie; "I wana rwd civic with a rb26dett with a tri-turbo kit running 50lbs of booft making 1500hp)
I would have to go simple: Sil80 with a KAAZ 2-way, SR20 blacktop with simple bolt-ons with a gutted interior with a single carbon bucket. You?
Oh here is a pic of what my dream may look like:
http://www.djelektrique.com/spec/sidefront1.jpg
http://www.djelektrique.com/spec/side.jpg
And If I was short of cash; an hachi would do...
http://www.djelektrique.com/spec/robby1.jpg
A daily driver you say, here ya go, I'd put a waterbed in back!
http://www.djelektrique.com/spec/jimmy1.jpg
http://www.djelektrique.com/spec/jimmy3.jpg
But what is your dream drifter??
p.s. yea yea NSX-R, I know, the monkey magic s15...we know ;)

The Xsara kit cars are FWD, with 260 hp from a NA 2.0 liter. The T4s are 300hp from a 1.7 I think. Crazy.
I think a S15 Silvia, with a KA24DET. I'm a fan of torque.

I like the idea of a VQ35 turbo... 255 hp stock, probably 400 easy with a couple of turbos. S15 silvia with 400hp, and 400lbft set to kick in around 2500rpm. Thats what I want in a 2500 lb Silvia.

Not neccesarily, jay, i've seen many great high-powered drift cars in option videos that run like 3.5deg in the front with 4.5deg in the back. If you have enough power, you still get lose. I'd bet that its easier to control too. I mean, its better to make it harder to drift than to make your back end slide around like nothing. I wouldnt want to crash an expensive high-powered car, would you? Better safe than sorry.

I have my eye on this little 2.2 liter Audi 5 cylinder... it makes 260lbft at 1950-4500rpm
I think running a suspension setup for grip is the best way of doing things. It stays tight for everyday driving, and if something(deer, kid) jumps out on the road when you're hard into a corner, you'll stand a better chance of getting out okay...

1500hp is too much power .........
Audi built a Group B (outlawed) Rally car with 1200hp its uncontrollable too much power is a bad thing not a good thing a decent suspension set up and a reasonable and moderate amount of power is better
close ratio gearbox and about 350hp should do it i mean lets face it you're not going to be able to do 200mph and stop again and you need to be able to control it in the corners .

Also, the Mitsubishi Starion, maybe a Cosmos, a Trueno or two, FC Savanna, my MGB GT (Love ya Layla, even if you need an engine rebuild because of oil blowby in the #3 cylinder) 240Z, R34 Skyline, that car over there, a 1978 Chevy Chevette Scooter (RWD, torquey 4-cyl, solid rear axle, light weight, two doors, narrow tires, kind of sounds like a Hachi-Roku, ne?) Under closer investigation, it seems the whole car was designed by Tony Southgate and John Wheeler, who designed Ford F1 cars...
In short, the suspension was tuned for track use as well as offroad, resulting in crazy RX performance.

And you've got to love the clamshell boot and bonnet combo. Sort of like a mini-mini Ferrari F40.
Spekaing of which, that's another car that would be a blast to crank slideways through a Touge run, a Ferrari F40! The truest of all Ferrari supercars. Not much more than a GTP car with a little bit of street legality built in, unlike poser Enzos or F50's that have such useless frivolties like carpeting, sound deadening material, roll down windows, or a headliner. You have got to love the F40's bare carbon fiber floor and the scary way the secondary turbo spools up all at once, breaking the rear tires loose in fourth gear and totally scaring any pantywaist that though that traction control was something other than a well trained right foot.
But then, maybe I'm biased.

I love the AE86 chassis. The only reason I don't have one now (other than thy're impossible to find), is because I just love Honda's too much. But I guess this would be a good compromise!!!!!!!!!!

Ha, you don't need a ton of power for downhill racing, 240 is enough :)
I'll take the SBC RX7 for the uphill though

A ungodly lightened Starion or a 200sx with an RB25 swap.
