Hoping somebody might be able to give me some good tips. I'm going to be helping a friend put a new engine in his 1994 caravan. I have never worked on one before and i don't have acess to look at one, besides pics on the internet. He lives far away so I'm not going to be able to see it until I get there. I'm not sure if the engine has to be droped, or can you pull it out through the top. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!!
thanks

You should be able to do it either way, although I have heard it is easier to pull it from the bottom, wouldn't hurt to pick up a haynes manual in case you get stuck along the way. Also shows how to pull a motor in the manual.

I've had several transaxles out but not the engine yet. However I'd say if you're leaving the transaxle in, it would be much easier to pull the engine from the top. Especially with a V6. Just looking at mine seems it should be a pretty easy job, if the exhaust bolts cooperate.
