brake lights

last night after i parked and shut off my car, the brake lights were still on, it was just the brake lights and nothing else, i pressed the brake pedal and they went out then, just was wondering if its maybe the switch that i should check to see if its sticking or something, i know on my old car it was right behind the brake pedal, is it the same? if not then where would it be and what should i do to the switch? thanks

I agree that it's a sticky switch, and it is mounted on the pedal bracket.
