rear trans mount

my trans mount is broke in the the rear so I was tryin to see if I could use somethin else to hold for the mean time instead of spending like $150 for the part?

Isn't the rear trans mount just a steel bracket? The front trans mount is usually the one to go because the rubber comes un-bonded from the two steel parts.

If it is just a steel bracket, grab one from a junk yard. What year vehicle are we talking about anyway??

naw the one in the front is about $44 but the rear one is a big bulk of metal and it runs $130 - $150

That's what I thought. I would hesitate installing a used rubber mount from a junk yard but would have no problem installing a used steel bracket.

Offer the junk yard $15 for the mount.
