Ball bearing Turbos

Hi all im a bit of a newby,
importing either a spider or gsx to england in the next couple of months?
i no theres loads of threads on this subject but ill ask due to my situation i can only make this purchase once.
looking for a turbo that will give me at least a half a chance with my uncle's evo 6 race tuned.
im looking for a turbo that will be quick spooling thus the ball bearing options. i want to keep the spool up time near stock. any idear what full boost rpms they are im looking for a direct fit option or even a complete kit for a 2g 96 onwards im more a 0-60 at leat under 5secs man and torque is more important to me than big hp numbers but a 400bhp dsm would be very nice. any idears a complete kit that would get me near there would be excellent as i have to import the indivdual parts.
Also which ball bearings are the best ceramic dual chara ect..
any input would be appreciated

FP turbos, Garrett, Turbonetics, AGP, SBR, all have great BB turbos for the dsm. All BB turbos start in the $1000+ range. I would suggest the AGP RS60t for a non-bb turbo that will produce WELL over 400whp not bhp for $699 and reach full boost @ 4k. Its up to you. I'm not perticulary fond of BB turbos for price/dollar performance compared to normal 360 thrust non-bb turbos. 400rpm Boost threshold diffrence to me is not worth the $$ to me. Thats just my personal opinion. Im a cheap basterd. You're best friend will be reading compressor maps from Turbocharger.com and sellecting the one that fits your wants/needs!

a spider is a heavy fwd. gsx will give a better 0-60 time. Remember, there is alot more to making better numbers than slapping on a turbo or turbo kit. Just putting on a good size turbo without proper supporting mods and tuning will be a step backwards and cause more problems than good

For whatever it's worth, I have never seen a boost threshold improvement with BB turbos. The example I always use is the GT40 56 trim that I ran in convetional bearing (tdo6h) and the same wheel in the GT14 on a friends car. I got 25 psi at 4400, he got 25 psi at 4500. Close enough to say its the same thing, since one tach to the next variability is not within 100 rpm. I could niether measure nor feel any improvement in boost recovery after a no lift shift either. The only advantage I see with dual BB turbos is the fact that there is no thrust bearing for me to destroy. Most poeple are fine with them, but I tend to be hard on turbos. BB turbos can be worth the money, just don't use the spool thing to justify it, IMHO.
And I'll second the FWD thing. On street tires I don't think you'll have a chance on the 0-60. Conversely, an AWD can do under 5 second 0-60s on a 14b.
On my lightly modded EVO's best run so far, with a crappy 1.7x sixty foot, 0-60 is a 3.61. On my 11.3 with an even worse 1.79 with some wheelspin was a 3.44. The point I'm trying to illustrate here even in a car that is not that quick, AWD 0-60 times are pretty hard to beat... You would be better off going after his quarter mile time if you are determined to beat him in a FWD, and overbuild the car.

Sorry for the delay in a reply thanks for the help i was only concidering the bb option to save on the boost lag but it doesnt seem worth the extra cash thanks

www.thespeedfactor.com has PTE BB 50 & 60 trims for $875. Thats about as good as it gets.
