i have a 95civic 1.6 vtec SOHC. is there any other head i can swap onto the stock block? otherwise, im looking for a type r 1.6 head or the stock 1.6 head. also, i was wondering if there are any cheap mods i can do to my engine or quick things i can change out from any b18 engines into mine. another question: if my car idles up and down really high when i start it, and when i put it into gear and it wont barely move, then i can put the pedal to the floor and nothing happens, could that be from not having the car timed right? i can give it gas while its in park, otherwise i get 98% nothing in gear!? this is why im looking for a new head, i think mines bad.

A Type R head won't fit since you have a D series motor. My advice is to do a motor swap if you have the money. No B series parts are going to fit your d16 so your out of luck there. If you just want it to run better than get the stock head.

You can't put a dohc B-series head onto a sohc D-series block. You can only interchange by series (D w/D and B w/ B).
With your problems, I highly doubt it's the head. Check your spark (plugs, plug wires, distributor), check for fuel, then check for compression on each cylinder.

What motor do you have, D16Z6 or the Y8?
Sounds like your timing is off, might have jumped a tooth. Wouldn't hurt to do a valve job either.
