Changed the battery and when the battery was hooked back up the lights for the ac,rear def, fresh air,and rear wiper flash for about 30 min. After that the lights go out and all are fine. Checked the system for codes and did not find any in the system.

sure it is a 89 ?? didn't think they had lights back then for the climate controls. For 96 thru 2000 do the following.

you need to run the calibration tests on the blend doors and it will probably fix this.
1. Set blower to high.
2. Set mode position so that it blows out the front vents only.
3. Set temp to cold.
4. Depress the Wash and Wipe simultaneuosly for 5 seconds until all lights turn on.
5. All leds will turn on for 5 seconds.
6. Test is running when wipe and wash are alternately flashing .
7. end of test the wiper button should be flashing , push wiper button to exit test

I did the calibration test and managed to get the blinking wiper lites to stop. However, my two AC buttons are still blinking. My van is a 98 GV 3.3 . Just like one of the other owners, I left my ignition key in overnite and ran down the battery. These problems started afterwards and I did a full re-charge.

Don't know where you got the calibration test steps from but it definitely helped. Any other ideas? Thanks!!

I have heard sometimes you have to run that calibration test 2 or 3 times to get them to go off .
