Can anyone identify this CD player? http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/3760/hyundairadio0162ha.th.jpg (http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hyundairadio0162ha.jpg) I have a 1997 Hyundai Elantra GLS with this CD player in it. I am trying to find out its model number and who manufactured it. I would also like to find out what burnable media this CD player is able to read. I have tried many different brands of CD-R and CD-RW media, but have not found media that it will read reliably. Thank you for your help.

I'm on vacation right now, but once I get back next week I should be able to find out. I'll be able to find out who made it and the model number, but not what type of burnable media. Considering your car is a '97 I doubt it would work with any burned cds.

Well, from what I can find, it is an Alipine unit. My book isn't showing me a model number though, probably because it is an Alipine unit, and not a Hyundai. Original Hyundai part # is 00215-A5100, which has been updated to 00201-H8100. According to my books, that unit wasn't offered in the Elantra though, but was offered in Tiburons with production dates of 8/1/95 - 6/1/01. My books have been wrong before, but thats about all I can find out. Your best bet would probably be to pull it out and get a model number off of it that way, and call Alipine and see how much they can help you.

I appreciate you taking the time to look up that information for me. I have found since my last post that the cd player will read Maxell Music CD-R's. Like you said I will most likely end up pulling the radio just so that I can find a manual for it. Thank you for your help.

Just buy the CDs and stop pirating them...
