Has anyone heard anything about any companys releasing an F430 model? It's about as new as the C6 and Revell already has a C6 kit out, so I'd like to see an F430 kit out soon.

Yes. Fujimi and Revell AG are planning on making one. Expect the same one from Revell a few months after.

Revell is also releasing the 288 GTO but it's probably a re-issue. It would be nice if they made some updates to it. I been wanting one but not willing to pay the eBay prices.

Fujimi kits are different from Revell, most of the kits are curbside (no engine), and have a simplfified chassis ans interior. The strong points for Fujimi are the body, very nicely done with crisp and detailed engraving, and the rims and tires, on par with Tamiya and Aoshima. A lot of people complain about Fujimi for the poor fit of some parts: In my experience it si still much much better than an AMT kit of the 60s-80s, and a skilled modeler can easily correct the few flaws.
Fujimi had released a series of kits in the 80s, the "enthusiast" series, which featured highly detailed chassis and engines, and a high part count (250+ !!). I have built a few of these (Ferrari and Porsche mainly), and they are in my opinion still up to today's standards (perhaps a bit less detailed than recent Tamiya's releases), and they are quite an experience to build. Fujimi re-released some of the Ferrari enthusiast kits this summer, notably the 288 GTO. This model is much better than the Revell release, which is nothing more than the Italeri kit (a good model, but the wheels look wrong, and the overall detail is lacking).

With that pic of the fujimi box, it looks like it will be a curbside. Probably muhc like their Lamborghini kits. There is an engine top, but thats about it. But this can be easily detailed.
The revell one will probably have an attempt at an engine. The modena did. It's no tamiya quality tho. But who knows, they might actually put a little more time and effort into this.

Okay all you super-sleuths listen up! Go look at the parts layout on that Fujimi picture NOW!
They show the 430 body sitting next to the parts layout for the Maranello
Gawd, I hope that's not what it looks like when I open the box :lol2:
Certainly nowhere near 98 parts in that picture. They will have to do a Lamborghini Murcielago/Gallardo-style engine top end because of it's visibility below the glass.
As for the Revell 430, I seriously hope it's an all-new kit like the Scaglietti. That's good enough for me to not miss it by Tamiya much. The HLJ prices for the Revell kit are terrible. If the Revell kit ends up in the US like the Scaglietti it'll be much cheaper than the Fujimi. If it's a rehashed curbside Modena kit I'll be mighty unhappy because that kit really sucks in comparison to Tamiya, Fujimi, and modern Revell AG. I think I'll not pre-order any of these until I know exactly what is what with the Revell kit first. I sure hope we see more variations than Tamiya did. Not just a Spider, but Challenge cars, Stradales as well.
The Revell 288 GTO is a reissued Italeri. Nice kit if it's cheap enough, it's not nearly as time consuming to build as the Fujimi.

I would say that Ferrari's "one mistake" is more likely the Scaglietti. Tamiya is due to release a newly molded kit, and judging by their attention to detail and obvious love of Ferrari, I hope its an F430 (although I still haven't caught up with my F360 yet!)

Uh, people, if Revell and Fujimi are releasing the F430, Tamiya will definately skip this one. Doesn't matter how good/bad the Revell and Fujimi kits turn out to be, there will never be three new kits of one car. Especially not of a Ferrari, as they control licensing of kits pretty stringently.
The workings of Tamiya are very hard to predict. They should have done a 1/20 BAR 006 last year, but didn't. Maybe the Enzo and Carrera GT just didn't justify in sales the investments put into them. Who can say? It is pretty obvious that they're not putting out as many new car kits- and it does seem to coincide with the explosion in popularity that diecasts are recieving lately. But don't expect the F430 from them. :disappoin

The F430 is also being produced by ABC Brianza in Italy. I'ts a resin kit with engine but not in the same range of price as Fujimi or Revell.
For my part I will definitely wait for the Fujimi kit and leave the Revell to others. Too many things & details are not satisfactory on Revell kits. Have you seen the tires you get in the Revell kits ? these are for dragster use only !
I have seen also that Maisto is proposing the F430 in diecast to be assembled, about $12.00
Unforntunately, I don't think Tamiya will produce the 430. I hope I'm wrong...

No worries, Tamiya and Ferrari have an excellent working relationship. I expect tamiya wasn't as interested in putting out the F430, maybe because it just looks too much like the last two Ferrari's they put out- run an Enzo into a 360, and you get a 430. Plenty of Ferrari fans wanted an F2002 after Tamiya's F200 and F2001- but they were really too similar to justify another kit.
The question is, will Tamiya find something intersting to do instead?

Common. Tamiya is releasing tons of retooled kit lately. You have over 5 Peugeot WRC, same for Subaru.
Too similar isn't a factor here. They just don't like us anymore. Few years ago, Tamiya was releasing between 6 and 12 kit by years, now we are lucky if we have 1 or 2 really new kit.

It's all what there's a demand for, that's all. I suppose that there are so many Ferrari models out already, people aren't really pushing for them anymore. I love Ferrari's and will never be sick of them. We should all e-mail them over at Tamiya and let them know that we want one :smokin:

Those aren't good enough pics to pan the model completely at this point. HLJ's prices are astronomical for European-sourced models. Any one of us could have done a better job assembling that model which was probably thrown together at the 11th hour for the show. Honestly except for the wheels looking a tad small and the ride height being off the kit looks pretty good. I looked at a 1:1 F430 yesterday and Revell's kit looks pretty accurate. I know I could make that kit in the pics look awesome. If it ends up as a $16 US retail Revell USA kit I'll be happy, especially when it's in the shopping cart at Hobby Lobby during a 1/2 off sale. Like I did w/the Maisto F430 that is now minus it's two sets of rims that ended up costing me less than 7 bux :naughty:
The poor pics don't show me enough detail to conclude that the Revell kit is either new or a revision of their sorry-ass Modena kit. If it's new it should be pretty good (hard to say if the wheels are actually too small or if it's just the ride height looking off).
In the next few months we'll find out from those who buy both what kit is really better. I'm holding off preordering any of them until I know what's what with both. I'll let Veyron be the ultimate guinea pig

I hope you're right Zoomzoom, but it just looks funky in that picture. It's not just the wheels which look awful and the tires worse, but it just doesn't seem right. The back end looks kinda fat and the front looks lean, and the seats look enormous! I usually have reasonable feelings toward Revell, enough to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I don't like the look of that model. And it's accurate, well, then the 430 wasn't as pretty as I thought and I won't be buying either version.

Reissued Italeri. Not bad if it's cheap enough. HLJ's prices are insane, for that much $$ get the Fujimi Enthusiast version. Mine was probably a Testors rebox of the Italeri kit (I built it years and years ago), so it cost way less than a Fujimi kit, and probably took 1/4 the effort to complete.
As for F430 design, it's very technical and very cool (successfully looking like a poor man's Enzo), but it's far from Ferrari's prettiest design and nowhere near as successful a refresh as say the F355 was over the 348 (and Fujimi did a hatchet job on both). Until we can see and compare kits, it's too early even w/these pics because I think that model is better than it's assembly shows. The seats look okay to me, I think it's the angle of the photo that isn't flattering to the entire model-it's probably taken from a distance w/a telephoto lense. Lest we not forget how awful the seats are in modern Fujimi kits...the Maranello seats are crap. Those seats in the Revell F430 kit look much nicer than what are in my Fujimi Maranello kits.

Doesn't look too bad..!! A decent model builder could make something out of the kit. Tabacco decals, some CF here and there, few newly built items, I bet a good model builder could make a decent 2005 F1 model out of that, and Revell prices in the UK are cheap as chips.. Bet it goes on sale here for less then £15..!!
Some one has to release the new F1 kits now that Tamiya have all but given up.. Shame really, only bad side I see to this model is that it's 1/24.

If Maisto is releasing the F430 diecast, we'll have three sources to make a perfect F430 model. Fujimi is always weak on the interior and engine, but the Revell does excellent job on those areas, making them an ideal combination. While the Fujimi kit won't come cheap on the Stateside, the Revell Germany and Maisto models will most likely be readily available at Hobby Lobby. I'm looking forward to the next (or the one after that) 1/2 off sale to get necessary kitbashing parts. ;)

best thing i've seen so far is the fujimi F430 with the stradale wheels cos i'm going to guess that the revell tyres are going to be their typical awful fitting method not to mention seemingly slightly smaller than it should be.
