Ignition Cautions!

On 5, 6 and 7 Series BMW's, energizing the ignition circuit when the ignition is not actually running could cause the system to fail due to overheating. This might occur when performing electrical tests, compression tests, etc. The transistorized ignition should be disabled in these instances by disconnecting the multiple plug from the ignition control unit.
