This is my newest project, will be turned from sport to street. My plans on it are to use a mk2 dash, maybe mk2 seats, some new rotors because this kit didn't come with any because its the motorized/static model. Different wheels will be used, the exterior won't get too much work done to it, maybe if i'm not too lazy some skirts and maybe a rear valance, mk2 headlight lenses. I haven't picked out a color for the car yet, have to look in some of my vdub mags to see anything i like. Suggestions comments please.

I'm leaning towards these wheels, where can i find some bbs style rims? or some newer looking bbs rims? resin?

This is my other wheel choice, except they won't be red maybe a silver or gunmetal color if i decide to pick these.

Looks like a nice model and I would say the first set of wheels.

That is very cool.I like the first wheels OZs right? I have a 1/1 mk1 golf as daily driver toy and I'm in the middle of polishing a set of BBS so that would be my choice if you can find them.

Im liking the second set. Are they Aoshima Hiro wheels?

They look sweet. Is the lip seperate?

I believe so, but they kind of resemble konigs, the lip is seperate.

I like the first set too, they fit the era of the car, yet bring it up to date somehow.

paint? DAYTONA BLUE, with a silver/blue fanded stripe down the right side of the hood on to the roof, and down to the tail lights, but not past the tail lights.

if you go with skirts, just match them to the existing flares, and stay simple with them, I hate big gaudy fins and flippers on micro compacts like that.

maybe a small ducktail spoiler at the top of the hatch?

I made a rear valance, but im iffy if i'm going to use it, the arrow shows where i would fill in with putty.

The dash (MK2) had to be extended to fit, will be sanded down soon.

Heres what i've done so far, shaved the front lower grills, added the front hood spoiler (i think thats what its called). I call it a long head light brow. In the background is what the grill will look like once painted and complete. I also worked a little bit on the interior, there used to be a big hole in back of the drivers seat where the motor and batteries would go, i filled it in. Also i added mk4 golf seats, seperated the head rests and added a little more detail. I also made a scratch built exhaust and muffler, not in the pics though. Other than that a little sanding and puttying and some primer will be shot soon after the weather clears up. Let me know what u guys think.

Lookin' good. If I'm not too late to the party, I'd run with the second set of rims, keeping the red, and spraying the car down in a light, metallic blue or green. But, it's yours, so do as you want. I'm just sayin' what I'd figure hot. Really dig the interior work, too, way to disguise the motorize.

Mmmmm great model! not so keen on those flares & skirts etc. but i like it alot. Spray it Silver, with gunmetal wheels, or gold BBS deep dish rims. Love the kit, keep up the good work. got some referrence for you, have a look.

Good job so far
I will follow the thread very carefully, you know how I like what you do

I would chose the ATS rims , they will be perfect on the GolfI.
