this has been buging me for some time now, so i gotta ask this question, not long ago, one of my friend had a turboed civic hatch, he said he only ran about mid 15s or so, but i was talking to my other friend and he said a turboed civic should run faster than 15s if not 12s, now i'm not sure how much boost he's running but i'm sure it should be around the 6-8 psi range since his internals are almost stock, so how fast should his civic be? what about a hatch thats running 20 psi? also if this helps these are street cars we're talking about, not cars for the race track, thanks for any feedbacks

question is broad. but if ur talking about a 88-91 civic si (d)16a6 running about 6-8psi stock internals... hmmm id say mid to low 14's. and well with 20psi stock internals? he's lucky if he can launch that car 5 ft

Well atleast tell us what kind of motor they have. And even turbo D series should be past 15s.

if the cars tuned properly. then i'd say 10-13 psi for any d-series to hit 12's or very low 13's

so you can hit 12's on a stock HF engine with the worlds smallest turbo...

i wouldn't recommend throwing out and #'s until we have some kind of info...having a turbo doesn't mean the car will be any faster if it wasn't done right

of course im not talking about an hx engine with the world's smallest turbo. im assuming anyone looking for more power first off is not using an hx engine and second is not using piece of crap turbo. my point is, take 10 guys out there who are running 10-13 psi on a d-series and i'll bet 7 or 8 of them are running high 12's low 13's.

so what's to say he isn't the minority..

don't recommend him turning up the boost so he'll go faster...unitl we know exactly what he has...can't give any valid #'s

rice(r) is known in OT section for his broad ranged questions which generally provokes such discussions and usually pisses off a few moderators...

i think its the 96 or 95 EX hatch, aren't those the D-series? so you're saying his civic should've been running low 14s with 10 psi (or around there) on street tires? wow...that's freakin crazy....thanks for the feedbacks, i should've mentioned it was the later models hatch EX, sorry for the confusion

There is no EX hatch, only a 2dr and 4dr. But yes, all '88-'98 Civics have d-series in them (as well as most of the '99-'00).
