Tamiya's kit is for an earlier car than the one in that picture. Studio 27 do a decal sheet for an Stig Blomqvist, Sanyo sponsored, '82 Swedish Rally car that would work with the Tamiya kit. As for the '84 car above, I think Renaissance had a resin body transkit a while back.

Renaissance transkit tk24/46 will give the you the required wider body and decals to reproduce that livery. It is a nice transkit.

I have this transkit, a very nice one it is too, does anyone know where I could get wheels like the ones shown in the photo as I think tamiyas standard quattro wheels will not do the model justice?
thanks in advance for any help

David, can you get some pics up of your kit please? I am interested. I went to my LHS today to see what they had. They had the Revell AG Audi...but the same style decals!!!grr...It did look better then the tamiya kit tho.

Whatever you do DO NOT buy the revell quattro!
It's horrid!
The underside is really quite in comparison with the tamiya, especially since it has a underguardplate (don't really know the word, for all you dutch guys here: keienvanger) unlike the acropolis tamiya version (because of course the acropolis rally doesn't really have sharp rocks at all :screwy:). The interior isn't that bad, but what really ruins it is the body!
It's A-pillars are as thick as a log, the front is just wrong, especially the repeators, and the rear is off.
Buy the tamiya, it really is the better kit.
On-topic: I've never really seen anyone make the quattro gravel wheels, but i would be very interested to see how it turns out. For a great quattro A1 tarmac build check our good friend KEN,(http://homepage2.nifty.com/KEN-RALLY/84tdcA2-1.htm, he also has a buld diary of it), it's immaculate!
Oh, and your pic shows a tour de corse quattro, a rally in wich i can't see why audi would fit gravel wheels. Note KEN's car is of the same rally as your pictured car.

Thanks technoman and rallyfanatic. I already have the tamiya version. I am just looking for any Stig decals tho. I was going to get the Revell one because I like to build same kits of different makers for comparisons. But I won't get it anyway. I did notice they had a fuller rollcage. Is the tamiya rollcage correct now? Or should it be more like the Revell one? I need pics of the rollcage. If anyone has any to share. I have to check my pics too. I saw an old Audi rally car once, I reckon it was Stig's!!!..
Thanks

Sadly i don't have pics of the revell cage, i cut it up :).
The revell cage is only correct for 1981 as far as i can tell. The tamiya cage is however only a half one, so you'll have to add styrene there. The basic form is correct though for all post 1981 long quattro's.
