64 nova posi

I'm looking for a complete 12 bolt, 3:55 posi differential for my 64 nova. Does anyone out there know of one for sale? Or does anyone out there know if there's a 9" ford rear end that will fit my car? Or any other posi rear end that will work without having to do major alterations? HELP

The best thing I can think of is a later '68-72 Nova rear end. You'd have to check the width, etc. They're virtually impossible to find in junk yards, you'd have to find someone selling one or go to a shop that specializes in such swaps. Check Special Interest Vehicles, they're online.

As for the Ford 9" rear, I had a Lincoln rear under my '69 with the disc brakes. The width was ok, just had to weld some generic perches onto the axle housing. You should get the axles redrilled or some aftermarket ones so the bolt pattern is the same as the front. I had a Cougar rear narrowed for my '66 Nova some years back, ran me $200 for that alone with axles in 1975.
