hey everyone,
i have had my 01 taurus in the shop 3 times for alignment and the thing still pulls real hard to the right, what else could cause this to be pulling like that.

An incompetent repair facility is the most probable cause of the continued misalignment.

Bad tire could cause this. You would think that the alignment shop would have recomended this before the second alignment tho. To see if that's the problem, try a tire rotation.

Possibly a bad strut bearing. You would probably feel it or hear it when your turning.

Good luck,

Denis

you could also have a bent tie rod or control arm, I once had a bent control arm and the car came up as properly aligned but clearly wasn't.

A very common cause is a tire pull. Cross rotate your 2 front tires and see if there is a difference. If it goes straight , problem solved. A tire pull doesn't necessarily mean you have a bad tire, sometimes one tire just has a greater rolling resistance, more common in lower quality tires.
Also check tire pressure.
This alignment shop is not doing a very good job since it's obvious they are not roadtesting the car after the alignment.
Another point is make sure you tell them it is pulling when you bring it in, and make sure that is written on the repair order. Sometimes the tech. is not told the symptom which is very important.
I hope they are doing a 4 wheel alignment, not just a 2 wheel.
Good Luck.

hey where are you taking this car to get aligned? are they giving you before and after specs? if so what are they? is your steering wheel centered as you drive down the road?if the alignment is good the most common cause of pulling is tires.most places just "set the toe and let it go" .toe is the major tire wearing angle but is also the only angle that does not cause a pull.
