Hello
My friend owns a 92 GTi and he blew his motor and he just got his hands on a 93 Passat GLS 2.8L VR6 great looking car but we aren't sure if it runs there is no key because it's was abandonded over a year ago.
We basically need to Hot Wire the car to make sure the transmission is good or the engine before we do the engine swap in a few days.
If anyone can help me it would greatly be appreciated!
Thank you!

if you can turn the engine by hand at the crank bolt then the engine should be ok. if its been sitting for 1yr than its going to take problably 20-30min of idling to get rid of the cam chain noise. I would reccomend removing the valve cover and applying assembly lube to the chain and cams so there isnt a dry startup.
