Does anybody have any experience with the KKM Cold Air Intake? I was considering ordering the intake from www.LSKoncepts.com for my 02 V6. There are two separate parts that you can order, the KKM Induction kit which is $90 and then the custom stainless steel intake tube for $290.
Does the HP increase as it claims between 10-15? And does the stainless steel tube make that much of a difference or can the stock tube be sufficient and replace only the intake box with the induction kit.
Thanks for all your help

You'll get more bang for your buck with the KKM kit. However, the intake tube itself will gain you some HP. The tubes are expensive since they are hand made and the pictures really don't do them justice. It's a 3" stainless steel tube that is less restrictive than the stock intake tube will all of the silencing baffles.
I hope that answered your question.

I've got an old version of that kit. Frankly, it's the best bang for the buck of the currently available mods. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. In addition to the kit you saw, I've also fabricated my own 4" cold air duct from the lower grill to the custom cold air box I also made. I also insulated the tube. You can't see the duct in the pics, but it comes up through the inner fender. The wide angle pic is from a while ago, before I insulated the tube and built the box. It has weatherstrip along the top edge now to seal against the hood. The box dropped my intake temps by 50-70 degrees (measured)

Chris,
That looks really good. I'm currently working on a box for my filter as well. I also fabricated a 3" hose from the lower grille to the inlet where the filter is.

I am looking for that nice sound when I punch it...will I get that from only adding the kkm kit or will the stock tube be too restrictive?

If you use your stock intake it has silencing baffles on it. It basically is there to keep the intake noise down so that it's not loud inside the car. However, getting the intake tube will eliminate the silencing baffles. It will be louder at WOT but not at idle or cruising speed.
