I cant to seem to get my car running. When I turn the key to start it it turns over but wont start. then when i turn the key off the fuel pump and a few dash lights stayed on . So I unhooked the oil pressure sensor and the problem stopped. So now when I turn it over the starter engages but when i turn the key off the starter stays engaged until i unhook the battery. The battery terminal is awful hot can't even touch it.I would really appreciate any help
thanks in advance (in the book it says its the oil press. switch {fuel pump} ) what would cause that to go all wacked out?

ZZ,
I can't help with the part about the oil sensor, but... The starter is bad. When you engage it, the poles stay in contact due to the spring in the solenoid not having enough "boing" to pull it back. You MIGHT "get away" with just replacing the solenoid. Either way, the starter must come out.
Best of luck. Post what you find.

Jim

ok, I' ll change that out this weekend . Ill also have to take a closer look at my electrical circuitry. when I push down on the wires for oil press. Fuel pump it comes on without the car being on.
