2007-2008 Redesign?

I was curious what the redesigned Silverado would look like and I found this photo. It's advertised as the 2007 to be released in late 2006. I thought they weren't supposed to do a redesign until 2008. This looks like a freakin' ford wrapped in tarps to me. What do you think?

What do I think...I want the powertrain dropped into my '02 body..that's what I think!!!! Looks like the '99-'02 line is destined to become a classic before its time!!!!

You stole the words right out of my mouth. 99-02 is still my favorite body style. If the rest of the truck holds up I plan on doing a power transplant in the next few years when the good stuff gets affordable.

Damn... chevy followed suit with the rest of the manufacturers, and made the trucks too damn high. On a positive note, DOD technology is pretty freaking cool. Too bad about the quadrasteer... My last car was a Honda Prelude with 4WS, and that was freakin' awesome

That's the Cheyenne concept... The truck under the tarps didn't seem to share many of the body lines with the Cheyenne

how long does it take for a 99-02 silverado to be come a classic??? how many models need to be made after it??? in my opinion its a classic already when my truck gets old enough im going to get a classic emblem out of a caprice and put it next to the silverado emblem "Silverado Classic" LOL

I must say the dash looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the style Chevy used in their cars (Belair and Impalla) in the late 50's, early 60's.... but damn it's kinda a pisser for the automotive press to refer to our trucks as old and tired and all that other malarky!!!! The front sort of looks like a Nissan Titon..errr Titan. A Ricer Siverado...Damn, there goes the neighborhood.

They will have fully-boxed frames. They need the 4.2 liter 275 hp I-6.

They pulled forward the new trucks and suvs back in March, but GM has revived plans for rwd cars.

I do not know if the 2007 Silverado will look like the 2007 Tahoe or not but go to www.gminsidenews.com and take a look at the new Tahoe. I would guess that the front end and the dash would be the same. Take a look and let us know what you think.

That doesnt look right. It's too high, too "tech-ee". It does remind me of a titan. Funnything is that titans are crap for MPG even with their advanced motor designs. Why anyone would follow that suit is beyond me. I am very glad I have a 2001 :naughty:
If they got that truck to 300HP with 30+mpg, would you buy it?

The new pictures that I have seen of the 2007 Silverado may be a SS model. It has plastic wrapped front and rear bumpers, disc brakes on the rear and a looks like a spoiler over the rear window. This is on the regular cab, X cab and the crew cab. But it really does not look much like the pictures earlier on this thread.

I like the way that Tahoe looks, but I hate the interior.

I like the 07' Tahoe front end. The 2 parts that would worry me are the headlight assemblies. Those will cost a fortune if you get a crack in one. Having the Headlight and Turnsignals in the same unit. Also, I agree with Blender if it has a plastic bumper only time before that get's chipped and cracked. Bring back the chrome.

99'-02' Classic body style. Only 19 more years here before I can put "Collectors" plates on my truck :D

the '99-'02 bodies have to be the best looking, but i must say i want the taillights from the '03 and up.especially since mine were broken and apparently fixed by some idiot with too many sheetmetal screws in his shed.but i also really like the new tahoe cuz of the clean design.not too busy. if the new pickups get even a version of it i may be tempted to consider one. i saw the new tahoe SS at the dealer the other day, and for someone who hates SUVs i was impressed. 395 hp and only 4 million pounds

I saw that truck at the car show over the winter, and let me tell you.... ITS F$#*IN HUGE. Im talkin like F350 superduty size, but it had no trailer hitch?

I don't want/need a new truck...gotta keep repeating that! Anyway if I was in the market, I'd consider it if they would give me a Dodge (oops the d word) style extended crew cab with a very long box.

I don't want/need a new truck...but if I got one, I'd want it to be impossible to go through a burger joint drive through 'cuz it's too long.

From what I was told the new silverado will have a lot of styling que's from the colorado, exterior wise.
