I have this 1994 Tourus with a 3.8 engine. It will turn with the starter, but that is all it will do. I replaced the cap and roter, starting coil and ignition module,The Tourus will not start. I do not hear the fuel pump operating, and I pulled a sparkplug wire to check for fire, and there was no spark. I am checking the Hynes book and found that the fuel pump relay is run by the (ECA) electric control assembly, under the dash over the duct.Fuel pump runs for a few seconds when ignition key is turned. This one does not. I replaced the constint relay control module, (junk yard part) Fuel pump started running when ignition key is turned but still no spark. the relay in the control module is clicking fast when I try to start the car. I may have put the wrong control module in. CAR WILL STILL NOT START AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

The fuel pump relay and spark are both controlled by the PCM, could have a bad PCM. The Ford PCMs seem to be quite reliable though, so want to verify a few other things first. For instance, is the CCRM getting a ground signal telling the fuel pump to turn on? Is the ignition module getting voltage and a signal to fire the coil? I've posted steps a couple of times on how to check the CCRM, do a search in the forum for "won't start" and you should find some items to check.

What is the PCM and the CCRM? I tryrd looking into the Haynes but just didn't come across these terms. I also checked the forum for "won't start" and came up with 0. I need more information.

The PCM is the Powertrain Control Module, commonly called the car's "computer." The CCRM is the Constant Control Relay Module. It is located on the radiator support, possibly below the plastic cover with the vacuum diagram/emissions sticker on it.

If you are good with block diagrams and electrical schematics, the websites www.members.aol.com/Rod2414738/Car_Stuff/CCRM-1.jpg and www.members.aol.com/Rod2414738/Car_Stuff/CCRM-2.jpg might be of some use to you.

Hey, PLEASE email me at [email protected] when you fiqure out the problem. My bro had the same problem and he has put a lot of money into his car trying to fix it. So if you could e-mail me with the solution it would be very much appreciated.

But where is that PCM located, say, on 1993 Taurus 3.0?
Thank you
