Passenger Window

I have a 2003 Grand Prix when I first bought it in Feb 05 the windows were fine then of all of a sudden one day the passenger wouldn't work from either side. I had an extended warranty and the dealer said it was the motor. Then around July (no warranty) the window stops going down from the driver side but will from the passenger side (sometimes will if I mash 1000 times). If the window is down it goes up fine from the driver side and then sometimes it won't go up from the passenger side. What kind of problem is this?? Thanks for any help you can offer!

it sounds like a bad drivers side window switch.

i had this problem but on my read passenger side window. I took the door panel off and the motor out then disassembled it. For some reason the brushes were no longer touching the shafts in there. A quick take-apart and re-assemble and it worked like new. Its not that hard, just takes nimble hands to unbolt the rear bolts on the motor nearest to the window. Its pretty tight back there.

This may explain why its intermittant, they might be seating and unseating themselves.
